14th - 21st April 2024 - 2 Spaces - Level 2 Course. Last camp until 2026.
Look no further if you want to tick off an experience filled week that will provide you with memories to last a lifetime. We've developed a bespoke adventure package that offers a great mix of snowboarding in various local resorts coupled with a snowmobile to splitboard/snowshoe and the option of heli-boarding to the best off-piste snow in the region.
Our base camp is Riksgränsen in Sweden. A frontier vibe town 200km north of the Arctic Circle at the border with Norway. It's steeped in Snowboard folklore having hosted some of the worlds best riders as they searched for a unique riding experience under the northern lights.
The course and terrain provides a mix of gentle natural in-bounds pistes with easy access off-piste to more expansive backcountry exploring via a splitboard, snowshoes, snowmobile or heli (optional). The bias of the camp is more towards piste to off-piste exploring, yet it's shaped around the desires and skills of the group.
Due to the northerly location of the resort, you can expect a variety of weather conditions with a common mix of lovely bluebird days to the occasional cloudy spells. With this in mind, we plan a very flexible itinerary as we see what each day offers.
A typical week could contain...
Day 1 - Riksgränsen resort warm up and off-piste exploring
Day 2 - Björkliden resort explore
Day 3 - Optional Heli or spa recovery
Day 4 - Snowmobile to Splitboard/snowshoe explore
Day 5 - Norway resort (Narvik) road trip and Arctic train return
Day 6 - Splitboard/snowshoe mission, and social sunset fire pit
Riksgränsen hotel offers a variety of accommodation options and restaurant options. We book a three person self-catering apartment for two people creating a more relaxed living space. You can also book your own room within the hotel, but please discuss the costs of this option when paying your deposit. There is a local supermarket within walking distance that provides anything extra you might need.
For the optional heli, we use Mountain Guide Travel. We recommend the 5 drop day trip, that works out to be around £160 per drop. To avoid disappointment we recommend you let us know your intention to fly when you pay your deposit. That way we can help arrange a reservation. If you haven't flown before we highly recommend this experience.
This course includes:
7 Nights 2 person shared self-catering apartment
6 Days with an off-piste certified guide
1 set of bed linen per person for the self-catering apartment
